This is probably the shortest/most barebones DLC on this list, but what's there is amazing: the art style, enemies and story are all S tier, there's just so little of it. This might be unpopular, but The Pitt reeks of missed potential, it feels like it was rushed and there were so many ideas that weren't explored. Play it for some brain dead fun and cool loot. (the winterized power armor that never degrades is a godsend, the stealth suit is amazing, the shocksword is fun and the gauss rifle is a classic.) But if you wanted a good, or any story, or RPG elements in an RPG, this DLC has literally nothing. It was 2-3 hours of dumb fun with some great loot.

The core gameplay was way different and I think it worked: no need for healing items, running out of ammo wasn't a concern, looting bodies wasn't necessary, weight limit didn't matter, I loved making a squad and choosing loadouts. It's basically just a CoD campaign in Fallout 3, which is surprisingly fun. I think a lot of people hate on this one too much. The liked the final battle, even if it was just pushing a button, but overall the DLC was mediocre, and the worst of the franchise. Storywise, there was next to nothing of note besides the stories of your friends there were branching paths/interesting choices. (the abominations later on go earn some credit though) A lot of the time you were just trying to figure out how to open doors/where to go, which gets old fast when you're just looking for one stupid little glowy panel. The gameplay was extremely repetitive, as the aliens were pushovers and you had almost no variety. Elliot and Paulson were interesting, the samurai was fun but not really a character (I liked how he was asking for his sword if you bothered to translate his lines, and you can give it to him) but Somah was extremely annoying for me and Sally is a child in Fallout, so she's insufferable. Now the meh: there were only 5 characters: Elliot, Paluson, the samurai whose name I can't write, Somah and the little girl, Sally. It also felt different from any of the other DLC's, which it gets some credit for.

MZ has some of the best visuals in Fo3, the art shines despite the graphics. Finally, this is obviously all my opinion, you can disagree, etc.įirst, the good. I'd like to preface this by saying I think all the DLC's are fun and worth laying, some are better than others, and while I like all the games, there's a bit of a pattern in my rankings.
